CDLC’s mission is to empower low-income people by providing high quality pro bono legal and related services to new and existing Indiana nonprofit community organizations that serve low-income neighborhoods. CDLC clients battle against homelessness, inadequate housing, unemployment, substance abuse, racial discord, crime, and a myriad of other social and economic problems.
These nonprofits often face hard funding choices. With budgets strained to meet program expenses, these groups frequently lack funds to hire private counsel. They need ready access to free or low-cost legal services to ensure sound business operations and successfully fulfill their missions.CDLC addresses their crucial need for legal assistance.
CDLC was founded in 1992 and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
