Community Development Law Center (CDLC) was founded in 1992 and is the only legal services organization in Indiana specifically formed to provide free or low-cost legal services to nonprofit and community organizations serving low income people.
CDLC clients battle against homelessness, inadequate housing, unemployment, neighborhood blight due to irresponsible property ownership, crime, and a myriad of other social and economic problems.
With budgets strained to meet program expenses, these groups frequently lack funds to hire private counsel. These organizations require legal services to ensure sound business operations which allows them to successfully fulfill their missions. CDLC fills this gap, addressing their legal needs.
